So here is what is in my heart. I have been deeply moved by many of the videos in the "It Gets Better" project. I've never been gay and in public school, but I have been a victim of bullying in the public school system and it totally did "get better" as soon as I got out of public school ( Read more... )

I asked at an LGBTQ Youth forum what adults can do to 1) get kids to tell us who is bullying them, and 2) how we can help them. The response? Actually do something.

The system for reporting is so fucked up. Because, we really need a system that addresses the people who are doing the bullying. Until the system adjusts to see that THOSE are the people who are seriously fucked in the head, it will persist.

The school systems in which students have a say in their schooling are the ones in which bullying is not seen as much. The entire system needs to change.
