1/ I personally just put the stories under a folder with a given subject- I don't use and app for that.

2/ Unfortunately, unless you bought the episodes through downloadable files through amazon or another source, you can't copy bought dvds legally. And even then it has to be only viewed from your own computer, you can't let a friend have a copy of it so she can view it on her computer without illegal means.

Thanks hawtboyluvin. I do use storyfinders and genrecfinders all the time, to find stories. I also researched several FF sites and around the web but was unable to get the info I needed. I wasnt trying to get away with anything as the poster above suggests.

I've been trying to do something similar for finding fics on my computer. Sometimes I'm looking for a very specific thing. I use a spreadsheet and put in a column for Author, Title, Summary, Characters, Pairing and a column for the TAGS I used on delicious. As I use a Mac I use Numbers to create the spreadsheet but any app which does tables would do.

Also Danceswithgary who finds fics on SGAStoryFinders with alarming speed might be a good person to ask, I pretty sure I remember them saying they used some sort of filing system.

As for the DVD thing it would depend on your operating software. With a mac you could try Mac the Ripper to get the info off of the DVD and DVDxDV to convert the info to Ipod form. But Google is your friend there. The legalities of it are being debated at the moment as you are allowed to make copies of software to backup your investment and it's being said that you should be allowed to do the same thing with Films. It also depends which country you are in, check your local law... end of sermon.
