It's the weirdest thing--the title of The Big Combo, and the names of the coupled characters, sound SO FAMILIAR to me. I was convinced I must have seen it--but then I looked at some photos, and it really doesn't ring a bell. So then I was convinced I must have read about it in a book like Celluloid Closet, but I couldn't find a citation. Possibly it was in some lesser-known book or documentary, like Color Me Lavender??

Anyway, you've definitely convinced me to watch it! And I like film noir in any case, so it's a win-win for me.
