Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Following the first snowfall of the winter, London woke up to a gorgeous white blanket yesterday morning. Having missed last winter's snowfall (while preparing for exams in Oman), there was no chance I'd miss out on capturing this weekend's main event. It pays to wake up early, esp on a Sunday!

Aw thanks! I took quite a few panoramic photos yesterday but I only posted the one in the interests of not slowing down everybody's browser/LJ timeline. I can never get enough of snowy photos either, especially when it's still in an untouched state. It's something I miss witnessing more of from my days in Montreal, however I'm not such a huge fan of the slush and hidden ice that follows when everything melts.

That looks lovely! It was 23 degrees when I landed into Dubai yesterday, which is exactly how I like it ~ warm here, looking at snow on the internet. :^)

Haha, that is indeed a dream combination. I don't mind the mild British winter (especially compared to what I experienced in Montreal). Anything above 0 is pleasant and unless it goes below -5 (plus a windchill), I rarely feel cold when walking outside. It's only the bloody heating indoors that gets on my nerves. Right now it's only working in one room in my flat, so I've kinda abandoned the rest of the flat till I get them replaced!

So pretty, can hardly believe it's London! Great pics. I love the transforming power of snow .. but only for taking pictures and skiing. Agree with your friend who just went to Dubai. Weather here is miserable today and wish I was somewhere warm.

Thank you! Do you ski much? It's something I wish I'd done more of, especially when I lived in Montreal. Some of my friends here have told me of their dry slope experiences, but I'd rather the real thing!

Yes it would be nice if things were warmer here but like I said above, I don't mind the mild temperatures. On average in a year, it hardly goes below 0 degrees and hardly goes above 25. I like that range. My only beef with the weather is the lack of sunny days. One thing I liked about Montreal was that it remained sunny through much of the winter. It was still -25 mind, but at least everybody was positive because of the sunshine!
