Arfcom had at least 6 seperate threads running on it. Kinda crazy. I was more concerned that he didn't even realize that the AR15 platform is very popular in varmint hunting. I mean...how can you be writing an article on something, and miss a bit of information that huge? I own a Bushmaster VARMINTER, purchased and setup specifically for prarie dog hunting. I most likely will never get a chance to use it in that role. But, his use of the word BAN is flat out inappropriate for a gun writer to use. If a gun writer thinks XX gun should be banned, well. More fuel for the anti's. It's not like he was talking about mortars or machine guns being used in hunting. He was talking about a rifle that shoots one of the most popular varmint cartridges in the world ( ... )

I was equally amazed that he seemed so uninformed of the popularity of AR and AK type rifles. How does someone get the far out of touch with the community and yet are supposedly someone that is so involved.

I didn't even open any of the ARFCOM threads on this subject. I know that forum would be brutal to the nth degree.

Part of me feels very sorry for him, it is sad to see someone self-destruct like that, but he did do it to himself.

I'm seeing threads about how Reminginton and Cabela's are pulling support of this guy. As in, taking away their financial support and severing ties with him and maybe even outdoor life! Wow....he really screwed up with this article.
