This is the only SCOTUS case I can remember actually really caring which way it went in... well may be forever. I even listened to the oral arguments on CPAN over the internet. I have not thought about it everyday but certain thought about it weekly since the oral arguments. After reading quite a numbers of analysis of the case and the court's potential ruling I am fairly confident that the case is not going to make immediate and major changes to firearms laws in general. That said I can help but think its going to push the issue slightly but momentously to one side or the other and in such a way that it will open doors for more changes in that direction in the future. Yes, I am a bit nervous about this.

There are something like 7 cases left to be decided this term. Heller is just the only one left from the March sitting. See http://www.scotusblog.com

I was reading the Live Blog yesterday. Looks like Thursday as earliest. I bet they push it off to next week and make it the last thing before they're out of session.
