So I went to see the NYE fireworks in North Sydney but I was late and they'd closed the gates!!! Fortunately they reopened them and I managed to dash through... this year, derry667 and I were joined by tipper_green and her parents. What a treat.

It was beautiful but they do have a different theme every year and I personally thought that last year was a little bit nicer. There was actually so much smoke from the fireworks that at the end, we couldn't take any pictures because of the smoke!!!

Yeah, it was a bit more crowded this year than last year! I forewarned Derry667 and co to get there early which they did and then I got complacent and came late... I nearly had a heart attack when they told me that they'd closed the gates. But thankfully they reopened them and I quickly rushed through.

It was still a very pleasant experience because the crowd is well organised and we only waited a few minutes to get into the station. I generally prefer North Sydney over the city and I think that it's more family friendly and is well organised (lots of coppers, first aid, people stationed around to help etc).
