First, thanks all for the positive words. It is a stressful time for all State employees, and I'm actually more concerned about others than myself ... my parents and I have talked and they can float me for a bit (months). Many others are NOT so lucky, and they really should be the focus

Oh, damn. After reading this and your last post, I actually used my google-fu to look up what exactly this was all about, and ho-ly shit. That's all very royally fucked up, and a) I'm sorry to hear what you and Californian state employees and whoever else is affected by these cuts must go through, and b) I'm glad to hear that your personal safety net seems to be well intact.

Now, have virtual German chocolate. It makes everything good or even better. This is a fact.
