I tried to read the manga for Claymore, but was really underwhelmed. My brain almost immediately said "Claire = Vampire Hunter D crossed with Rei Ayanami," and after that it was hopeless. I also found that kid highly annoying.

Ayanami thing can be passed on to all the Claymores >_<

The kid was HIGHLY annoying. His "saving grace" was that he was absent from a good portion of the episodes.

As an anime is seemed like it wanted to be something and go somewhere that it never really did. Lots of starting threads but never picking them up style things.
