1. In the rain. In an alley. “Fucking bullshit cliches,” Brad says, but it’s not like that stops them.

2. On the T, late enough that it’s just them and this goth guy in the car, both of them feeling stupid and brave and reckless enough to lean in. It’s quick, barely a kiss at all--and, seriously, goth guy is snoring--but they both look over their shoulders for weeks. Instinct. Habit. A combination of both.

3. Nate’s fingers are covered in neon yellow highlighter stains. Brad’s hands are clean, still damp from washing out his mug.

4. Dark room, locked door, half-asleep and the still jump at the sound of footsteps in the hall.

5. A tent, location classified, and it is the stupidest thing either of them have done that wasn’t mandated by a shithead CO or the US Fucking Government and which wasn’t (too) life-threatening (really) or didn’t put any innocents in danger or didn’t involve alcohol or anything behind some good old fashioned adrenaline and some lust. 1. Knitting. I have neither the temperament nor the fingers for it, and yet. I do wish I could knit myself all the cold weather gear in the land.

2. Playing hockey. That’s hobby-like, right? Maybe one day I will pony up the cash moneys to take one of the myriad hockey for beginners who are also adults programs out there. If nothing else, I want to start ice skating more often as a workout/hobby type thing. But, mostly, I am a kickass hockey playing gal in an alternate universe.

3. Playing the drums! Pissing off neighbors, friends, and family alike!

4. I wish I could draw. Like, comic book drawing, really, but also anything artistic. I can't do stick figures.

5. I also wish I could for real, legit, bartend. But as a hobby! Not a job! For my own cocktail-enjoying self, mostly, though also to hide behind at parties.
