[& I took the red line all the way]

That shipping meme, which I somehow managed to get from someone, somewhere, who is not daygloparker (though I last saw it with her).

Six Ships I Love
1. Mick/Keith (Rolling Stones)
2. Eric/Tami (FNL)
3. Buffy/Faith (BtVS)
4. Geoffrey/Ellen (Slings & Arrows)
5. CJ/Toby (TWW)
6. Natalie/Jeremy (Sports Night)

Three Ships I Liked, But Don't Anymore7. Jim/Pam ( ( Read more... )

meme!, music, telly

I quite literally can't hear "we best keep this to ourselves and not tell any members of our inner posse" without going, "CJ and Toby on Josh's stoop!" and thinking about IP's (I think it was hers, at any rate) vid.

Yeah, it was IP. And I don't think there's another song out there that suggests a pairing in quite the same way for me.

Phew. I was about 99.9% sure that it was her, but that .1% of doubt had me worried. And the thing is, except for that one line, the song itself really doesn't fit CJ/Toby particularly well, and there are certainly ones out there that fit better, but it's still the one song that comes to mind for them.

Hee. They're pretty much made of win, is what they are, and everyone should watch Slings & Arrows, my fic or no.

Okay, the Frank/Tim thing, which I find particularly hard to verbalize for some reason, so this may not make any sense outside of my own head. I agree that there's love on both sides, that on Tim's side it does in fact include sexual attraction, and yet. And yet. In part, it's the fannish representation of the ship that I dislike, as the fic I've read tends to have them jump into the sack, which is my main stumbling block to reading them as a ship. In fact, to some extent, I think it's more that I'm defining "ship" very narrowly here (even with Mick and Keith, I think there's a more even distribution of sexual attraction, even with the ostensibly "straight" one, than with Tim and Frank, not to mention the fact that I buy them cheating on their wives wherein I have a complete and utter disconnect at the thought of Frank ever cheating on Mary), and as part of that narrow definition I am including some degree reciprocal sexual attraction. And I just don't see that from Frank. I see love, I even see a sort of romantic love. I see an ( ... )

I'm sure you could pimp me into FOB. I bet you will. As long as I don't really have to start listening to the records extensively.

There is absolutely no reason to listen to the music of any of the bands in this ragtag fandom. It has no actual bearing on the wonderful(gay)ness of the existing canon.

Oh! And you like het pairings too! Please come play in my sandbox! Have you met Maja and Greta? Are you down with genderswapping?

I do like het! (And slash, boy&girl!) I am basically down with people getting down, is the thing. And genderswap is delicious (and nutritious: y/n?).

As for Maja and Greta, um. Hi, Maja and Greta, I think I am in love. (Which is to say: I obviously need to learn all about them. Yes.)

Okay, I have to go out today and cannot harass you in person, but you should go peek at my fic journal, where me and Fi tend to stash our goodies.

So I was vaguely busylike most of yesterday (ok, so I was watching baseball and Disney films and eating far too many brownies, but still! I also went to the corner store and bought milk, which I consider a big success), so I didn't really get around to peeking at the fic journal until today, and. OMG. Seriously, Trish! I've had a bit (read: too much) of coffee this morning/afternoon, so maybe that explains the flaily and the capslock and the lack of words, but. OMGTRISH. And the pegging! And! My roommate and I are having writing day today, so I can't just lounge around and read, but I am seriously in love with Trish (and I want a girl just like her).
