opinion of a mature and responsible adult

May have more to say later, but for now let me say this about the Doctor Who Christmas special.

Things like plot, character development, set design and costumes- all of these are important. But the most important criteria for an episode, for me, is how it leaves me feeling. Stories that leave me feeling happy and uplifted will always be favorites. ( Read more... )

It was nice, wasn't it? A good mix of joy and melancholy.

Exactly what I needed in the bleak midwinter. Well, not so bleak. We got a couple inches of snow today and it is very pretty.

But yes, it was lovely.

Also now I want to work this into a episode-themed costume for TimeGate.

I just got around to watching it last night, but I definately feel like watching it again. And I've been listening to Katherine Jenkins on a loop. Oops.

And Everybody lives, Rose! is one of my favorite Nine moments. How I miss Nine! Sigh.

unrelated but

i have a gift rachel got for me
i keep talking myself out of opening it

it's palm sized perfect for magic tricks
the wrapping is a chameleon skin, hiding completely what lies inside
with a ribbon & twine jacketing the suprise

but after the christmas special
i hope i'm not causing her distress
by choosing some faroff date for its reveal

once open it can never return to its shell
such a sad turtle indeed!

p.s. we loved the christmas special, and it was actually snow!

I love this comment. Have read it over and over and makes me smile every time.

It's a bit like Schrodinger's gift. Anything could be inside, but as long as it's wrapped it contains perfection.

Hope you've opened it by now, and found it was just what you always wanted.

I liked it. I need to write a proper review. But, like a lot of other people out there, I'm beginning to wonder what Moffat has against women. Anywho, I'll be glad when I can purchase the special in Feb., so I can watch with the subtitles on. Everyone often talks so fast on the show, esp. the Doctor, that I often feel as though I'm missing some of the words.
