It still amazes me how my mother, the great hater of all things sci-fi, is so completely sunk for Doctor Who. Some of you may recall how previously her worst nightmare was that she was incapacitated and we forced her to watch Scyfy all day, and she couldn't do anything about it. Seriously, she actually woke up sobbing over that dream. Not the part

Awwww, that's so nice!

My mother was not a fan of anything remotely SF or fantasy. She did love Brett's Holmes, although she preferred the second actor to play Watson, whilst I liked the first much better. She also enjoyed the Britcoms.

It was Daddy who liked media SF, and introduced us to it. I'm quite grateful for that. :)

But it's cool that your mom likes New!Who.

You know, I don't think anyone likes the Slitheens very much. I find them creepy.
