That situation is just insane and the people, who probably had nothing to do with the greed and selfish intentions of a few, are paying a very high price. I feel sorry for you, the things have been off and beyond in my country as well and many a time has come when I thought this might be the right moment for a fucking social revolution - but my silly people are much more meek than yours are and they just follow the manipulative few like sheep into a slaughterhouse ( ... )

It's a frightening situation. You're not a coward; many people choose to live abroad, no matter which country they hail from. You had the courage to go home and vote.

This whole mess has been "How to Destroy the European Project in Five Easy Steps". The current "deal" is extraordinarily vindictive and has failure more or less built into it even on its own terms, and is probably going to fall apart in the short to medium term. Total failure of vision and even basic political sense.

I don't even know what to say -- there doesn't seem to be any way forward that isn't going to be ugly. (And you did the right thing by not staying to bang your head against the wall, which wouldn't help anyone, but especially not you.)
