I'm a little embarrassed to admit that not only have I never seen a Mad Max film, but I didn't know they were remaking it ... until like ... two days ago...

Are you into crazy Australian car chase movies in post-apocalyptic environments with a sort of punk aesthetic?

I haven't seen a Mad Max film, but for your poll, solely on Mel vs Tom... Tom Hardy has to win, hands down. He's an incredible actor.

*sigh* I was too vague with the wording of my poll, wasn't I? I was still riding high on the adrenaline of having seen the film.

I didn't mean who is a better actor or person, but who embodies Mad Max better.

Now that I've seen the new MM I went back and dl'd two of the original ones to start with. I wasn't going to watch before the film because ew, Mel Gibson. But now that I've seen the new one and how amazing George Miller is I want to go back. But at this point Mel Gibson could single handedly save a village of kittens from a volcano while curing HIV and I'd turn my nose up at him.

I know that Mel Gibson has turned out to be racist/sexist nutjob. But we didn't know that then. And that didn't stop him from being gorgeous back in the day, or from Mad Max being a very cool trilogy of movies.

Be easy on the original films. You have to remember when they were made. The first one was made in 1979 and has all the aesthetics of 70s film - ie is a very slow ride.
