Fanfic inspired venting

I have finally practically moved house. I just have some bits and bobs left. But more of that later, now I want to vent.

Do you guys ever find a fanfic that you find interesting and gripping, yet contains things that profoundly disturb you? You keep on reading because you want to see how it turns out, all the while feeling deeply uncomfortable?

A/B/O stories are always very iffy territory as they often squick me and some times get very close to my triggers. (My biggest trigger is mental entrapment, loss of free will, brainwashing, imperio)

It's the same with me :/

It's a pity because some A/B/O fics are very well-written, but at the back of my head I can't agree that characters can be put into neat boxes like that, especially when the world is exclusively dom/sub or A/O. Plus A/O worlds come too close to the old-fashioned patriarchal idea of women as a subservient species for my liking. Someone is born an Alpha or an Omega and cannot change it? Omegas are wired to always obey and need Alphas? Being paired up is the ultimate goal? It's all very iffy, no?

I adore CM and have written a few bits myself but I am firmly in the Morgan/Reid camp I'm afraid....

As far as A/B/O tropes go, Reid is most definitely not an alpha and neither is JJ an omega. In fact, I might go so far as to say that they've got them the wrong way round.

CM is quite addictive! I have seen all the episodes and now am stuck waiting for the new ones to come out! Boo
