I'm amazed by the courage and determination you show in a middle of a crisis like this. I have many Japanese friends and I'm thinking Japan constantly. You are not alone. <3

Mayflo - *Hugs* You've always had a big heart. I miss you, sweetie.

My message:

In the fall of 2003, I was a US Army soldier with a battalion of infantry soldiers staying for a little while at Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force base Camp Takigahara at the foot of Mt. Fuji. We were there for joint training with our Japanese military counterparts, to learn from each other and build friendships.

In the short time I was there, the Japanese people became dearer to me than any people in the world. I was completely stunned by their tremendous kindness and graciousness, and I learned something from them that I have taken with me and tried to practice in my life ever since, what hospitality means and how to be a host.

You're a strong and brave people, but you're not standing alone. My thoughts and prayers are with you, as is the good will and support of the rest of the world.
