[Edward's got to admit, after being locked up in his basement since Sunday, it's nice to finally get some fresh air and sunshine. Though the lovely banner adorning the nearby shack is more than a little unnerving. Port West? It doesn't take a genius to realize that Mayfield's up to something. Question is, what?
For now, Edward decides to do a bit of investigation. Find some answers. And who knows? Maybe he'll be able to relax without Susan or Slugger breathing down his neck.
Those of you wandering the island are likely going to find Edward arguing with the drone just outside the private cabana.]
What do you mean, "VIP-exclusive?!" Do you know who I am?!
Were you expecting anything different? This is Mayfield's doing. To think that you could actually enjoy yourself is laughable.
[I mean really. Really, Eddie.]
But at least it's warm here, and we're no longer expected to murder each other. So I suggest you stop making a fuss and enjoy what you have, before they take it away again.
[Lithuania refused the bathing suit--was this some sort of reward for what he'd done? He certainly didn't deserve anything of the sort. He wanders around instead, a tiny bit jumpy but otherwise just confused.]
One the one hand, oh my god this is a beach she's never been to one before there's sand and sea water and seagulls this is the greatest--
But part of her would rather be back there, tending to "business", so to speak.
Chell spends her time sitting in the sand at the water's edge, legs splayed out in front of her to allow the waves to lap over them.
Maybe she can enjoy this just a little bit. Now if only her expression could stop shifting between happy and serious, she might not look like such a crazy person. ]
I agree it is troubling. I did not even kill anyone....even worse, I could not protect someone close to me.
But...
...I am a veteran to this type of thing. It hurts greatly too but one should strive to overcome what brings them harm so they can be fully prepared to do whatever is necessary to help others.
[Sealand doesn't quite realize why he's here--he didn't go after any of his targets, after all. But more importantly, standing beneath the hulking behemoth of his anti-aircraft gun, he's looking out at the water, because it's been so long since he's seen an ocean.]
An ocean, an ocean!
[And he splashes around in the surf with his rifle still strapped to his back.]

I doubt he does. I don't, really, and you're my neighbor.
[So there, Edward. You're not famous enough for this beach.]

It's not that she thought she would be alone here, but she's been out of it enough to not really notice anyone else's presence until now.
She reaches for her notebook which sits in the sand beside her, scribbling something into it before lifting it up in his direction. ]
