[Red Mage barges through the doors frantically waving his arms around.]

This is unacceptable! I refuse to stand for this kind of treatment! As a fully vested and duly empowered rules lawyer both inside and outside Mayfield, I demand my case be heard! This behavior is a flagrant violation of GM fiat!

[Peter and Kono reach the Mayor's office without much further incident and peer up at it. Bizarrely, the place looks... good. Structurally sound, relatively unphased, maybe a little dusty... but still standing, which automatically gives it the upper hand in comparison to the rest of the neighborhood.

Peter tries the door handle; it's unlocked. He turns back to Kono. ]

It's open, if not for business.

[Kono turns from staring at the building to look at Peter.]

Right. Although must be pretty nice, being one of the only buildings that hasn't been destroyed.

[She hands him one of the pipes they'd collected on their way - best weapons they could improvise for now.]

[he gives the pipe a few tentative swings to test it's weight. Evidently satisfied, he nods.]

[With a deep breath, he opens the door slowly, entering and holding it open for Kono to step through.]

[Enters and does a sweep, wishing more than ever she had some kind of firearm. There's no immediate danger that she can see. However, it's immediately obvious that the Mayor is dead. Kono lowers her pipe.]
