That's an excellent point. I said this before- of course, I'm not running away. And even I can clearly see how this is going to end. That is why it really can't be helped now.
[ He's smiling calmly, despite the pain he's experiencing right now, and holding up the knife- but it definitely doesn't look like he will use it to attack. ]
Regardless, I plan to take as much control as I can over this situation. The chance to make a choice, even though it is a minor one, was given to me, so I will use it.

His breaths come in heavy when he opens his mouth and clothes it again and makes no other sound; other than a brief wince, his face remains exactly the same throughout all this. He pulls the knife out of his stomach, now completley covered with his blood, holds it in his hand and slumps on the wall with his back against it, calmly, without a sound. As if he just fell asleep. Part of the traditional ritual is having the kaishakunin standing next to the samurai committing the suicide cut off the head so the death will be quick and less painful; or ( ... )
