Just saw this...loved, loved, loved it.   I never saw the original musical, so I don't know how it compares  (though I have seen Jennifer Holliday's amazing performance at the 1982 Tony's on You Tube), but I loved the movie.

Go see it if you haven't!

So we just got Netflix, and we are loving it. But there are 8 million and twelve movies out there!

I have officially done something I have not done since I first discovered Buffy.  I spent all FREAKING DAY watching episodes from a single show. Grey's Anatomy.  Just got the second season DVD.  Meant to only watch one or two.   It is now many, many hours later ( Read more... )

I have just finished my first week at my new job! I decided to put all my stressful events into one summer- marriage, new job, now we're looking for a house, oh my.

Anyways, I went from working at my teeny tiny little rural hospital, where I worked with primarily geriatrics- strokes, joint replacements, broken bones, etc, to big bad UW Hospital. ( Read more... )

Okay, let's try this again. Here's a little background info on the resort: There are two main buildings, the Riviera (by the beach) and the Manor (back in the rainforest a little ways). I have returned from the land of Wedding Planning Mania, via a honeymoon in Jamaica. Now I'm in the Land of Endless Thank You Notes, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. :-)
