Ah, what a beautiful story!

I loved how both Dean and Cas needed a vacation from their "normal" lives and the trials and tribulations that came with it.

And I am glad that Dean knows that Cas will be there for him. All he has to do is ask.

I really enjoyed this. I loved that even though Sam never appears, it really is about him. The weird hotels were awesome.

I absolutely loved everything about this! Cas being sneaky and trying to get Dean to take a break without actually coming out and saying it, and the two of them hunting together. And even Dean realizing that having Cas there can't begin to make up for Sam being gone--it feels so right, but so does his conclusion that Cas doesn't need to make up for Sam, or be Sam's substitute. It's enough that Cas is his friend, and he'll come back when Dean needs him to.

Ah, this comment actually made me tear up a little, because YES, you get it. I never came out and said so explicitly, but this was all about Dean trying to use Castiel as a replacement for Sam, and ultimately realizing that it didn't work, but that was okay--Castiel is a good guy on his own terms. I'm so glad you enjoyed the story.
