I was too tired yesterday to really explain why I'd had such a nasty customer service experience (along with my already frustrating day), so let me explain
( Read more... )
Yeah, I'm very sensitive, and I know it. I have trouble even talking to people on the phone--I have to psych myself up and take a deep breath before I call a number, even someone I know. Something about it just wigs me out. I've been getting braver lately, but I still have a ways to go. Maybe someday I'll be as fearless as you. :)
I feel bad for comment stalking, but I just wanted to jump in and say that I get uncomfortable talking on the phone too. I really don't know why I feel so weird about it, but I do. I was almost for sure going to get a summer job this year, except I don't really know how to leave voicemails, and I just never called the guy back...
Maybe there's an actual reasoning behind this that we've never heard of before?
I know, it's weird, right? When my brother was a teen he would talk on the phone for hours, but I never understood the appeal. Even though I have people I love who I could call and talk to on the phone, I just don't do it.
Have you thought about getting a job in a pet store or with a vet? You love animals and you'd probably enjoy it more than working on a computer all day. Then you could give the kind of customer service people should get ;) The tire nazi isn't going to be in business long with that attitude. Sorry you had such a crap day.
Yeah, I applied to several pet stores when I was looking for a job, but none picked up. I think it would be a great job. If I can't work in education or with kids, a pet store would be my next pick. :D I'm not sure about veterinarian work, though. But my sister wants to be a vet tech and I think that's awesome.
Tire guy sounds like a complete ass and the reason his prices are so cheap is because he'd be out of business otherwise. No one would put up with his behavior. I love our Discount Tire store. The guys are always professional and nice. They even fixed a flat for free, even though it wasn't covered by my road hazard.
That Tire Nazi is an asshole. Man, I so want his number so I can call and give him a piece of my mind. There's no call for that even if he was having a bad day. I'm sorry you had to deal with that. At least the pet store people and the discount tire people were friendly. You're right. It does make a difference.
Cheer up. The day's over and you're on to a new one.
Oh, and I was thinking about your back problems and the fact that your chair isn't comfortable for you. Have you thought about a back support cushion and/or one of those footrests? That helps me quite a bit. You can check out Office Depot or Staples.
I think he'd seriously been stewing at me for the whole day since I called him on Thursday. Maybe he'd thought I hung up on him or something, I don't know. But in any case, it's over now and I'm not going back.
A back cushion or foot rest is a good idea, thanks. I hadn't thought of that.
