Finally I have updated pictures of all four of my tarantulas. The lighting isn't the greatest on one of them, and I can't get very good closeups with my older digicam, but they aren't too bad for all that.

Veronica (formerly Spot), my B. smithi, molted again yesterday. At least I'm assuming it was yesterday... I ~think~ I saw her waddling about in her habitat the day before, but I'm not sure. So let's go with Cinco de Mayo since it's such an auspicious occasion.

Spot, the Mexican Red-Knee, is such a nervous skittish bristle-flicker.... I hadn't seen her for while, so I lifted off her coconut shell hut to check on her. I accidentally touched (just ~touched~) her abdomen with the edge of the hut, and she flicked up such a bristle-storm that I saw ~puffs~ of bristles puffing off her. I now have ~three~ tarantulas! A woman on my tarantula e-list was thinning out her collection, due to time constraints, and offered a bunch of her extra tarantulas to the rest of us, for shipping costs. Spot, my smaller tarantula, molted again today; I noticed her starting at about 1:10 a.m. This time I got to the newly-shed skin before she wadded it up in a heap. The smaller of my two tarantulas, a small juvenile Brachypelma smithi, molted today! I suspected it was due soon, because the tan spot on its abdomen had darkened, and it had been very lethargic in the last week or so... but it had eaten a cricket or two just a few days ago, so I wasn't sure.
