Batman: JLU did the same thing with story arcs. That's one of the reasons I loved it so much. Did Sherlock Homes ever have his own DC Comic or was he ever featured in one?

Lost: I think the fact that Sun didn't time travel means something. Maybe her agenda is incongruous with the other Oceanic Six. Maybe she HAS teamed up with Charles Widmore. Locke may have stayed put for the same reason.

Batman: Hmm, I can't recall. All I can think of is this one Elseworlds tale called Gotham by Gaslight. Batman's costume in this episode was based on this comic. It was basically Batman substituted for Holmes and Joker for Jack the Ripper.

Lost: Good call. I forgot about that. That and/or they still "have work to do" before they can go back to the 70's.

Batman: Interesting. I think it would have been neat if DC had done some Sherlock Holmes comics way back when.

Lost: What you said is the more likely scenario. I just knew after I saw they were split up that there was almost certainly a reason for it and that the island itself probably had something to do with it. I expect Sun and Jin to be reunited by season's end.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold - Adam Strange is just cool, though. I think he was sort of cheated in New Frontier, but he came off pretty good here. I didn't even make the Zeta connection ( ... )

Smallville: Yes, Chloe was REALLY horrid towards Jimmy and could have easily salvaged the situation had she showed the slightest bit of sympathy towards him. This was her fault completely and I hope in coming weeks she realizes it.

The Simpsons: What about the ending was too much?

King of the Hill: Hank protects the both of them from their own stupidity SO often that I found it nice that they were given a stark reminder of how lame and stupid they actually are. Peggy needed it more than Bobby though because as he noted he's been humiliated MANY times before.

American Dad: It was nice to see Hayley having fun for once and getting into the spirit of things. I hope that happens again soon.

I just didn't like Bart becoming all evil and pretty much opening the gates of Hell in front of those nuns.

I'd welcome more Hayley and Roger. Or even Hayley getting into the spirit of things with Jeff.

Simpsons: It's one of the central conceits of the series that Bart is pure evil. It's kind of a lame gag and not really true but it's a running gag that is completely consistant with earlier episodes.

American Dad: Agreed.

It feels like it's been so long since FG came back, so it's probably been a few years since I've seen this season. I'm glad they stopped being a sitcom spoof, but it lost whatever heart it used to have.

Don't Make Me Over - I think they hurt their characters when they make them one note. This is a reason why Meg doesn't get to carry her own episode that often.

Brian the Bachelor - Same with Brian, although he's not really one note. Just a loser, and rather than be the voice of reason, he's just an arrogant jerk who looks down on people who don't share his view. He still plays well with Stewie, though.

Peter's Got Woods - I dunno, I liked the callback, and Peter saying next time, they should do that right away.

What was the Perfect Castaway, again?

It never had any heart whatsoever. Any "touching" scenes the show did in the early days were merely poking fun at touching moments during sitcoms. I'm glad they lost the pretense of being anything but soulless.

Don't Make Me Over: It's also because the writers have no idea what to do with her.

Brian the Bachelor: He didn't used to be that way so that's my biggest problem with him now. They pulled a Peggy Hill and turned a once interesting character into a loser because it gave them more cheap laughs.

Perfect Castaway: The one where Peter, Quagmire, Cleveland and Joe are lost at sea and he comes back to see Lois married to Brian.

In retrospect, you're right about Family Guy, they didn't really care about stuff like that. Still, I like characters I can care about, and stuff like Lois not even being able to tell Meg she loves her on her wedding day doesn't do anything for me.

I agree and it's one of the reasons I can never fully enjoy the show. Other than the fact that it delivers funny gags there is nothing else about the series to recommend. For many people that's enough but it's kind of infuriating that people claim the show is better than the new episodes of The Simpsons. They aren't even close.

Lost "Namaste"

I think the thing I like best about it is that Jack and Sawyer's roles are completely reversed. And the funny thing is, not only is Sawyer a better leader than Jack ever was (he thinks instead of reacts) Jack let him get away with saying it and had a self-deprecating smile on his face while he was being tongue-lashed! That is a GREAT turn-around from the Jack of three years ago who took himself WAAAYYY too seriously and was only SLIGHTLY less likely to brook descent than Locke was at his worst.
I don't think that's an accurate depiction of things.
Sure, Sawyer is the thinking one now. But in Season 1 all he could think about was how to piss people off. Jack managed to get a scared group of whiners to build a sustainable society ( ... )

All decent points. I do have to point out that Sawyer has been in charge for three years, a MUCH longer time than Jack had to get his sea legs. While Jack is undoubtably more noble than Sawyer and does things for the right reasons at this point Sawyer has had more time in charge.

Did you see the last episode of Battlestar Galactica? What did you think?

It didn't answer some big questions. And a lot of the answers weren't great.
But I didn't care. It wrapped things up. It felt right. I'm very happy, very satisfied.
It was "good enough."

Agreed. There were a lot of things I wanted to know (particularly about the first Earth and the Final Five) but dang, this episode had a definitive feeling to it that I didn't expect. It WAS good enough.
