I haven't gotten season three of Teen Titans yet. I'm too bothered by the fact that Beast Boy is on the cover (he should've been on the cover of 2, Cyborg should be on 3
( ... )
I disagree about Raven only coming off as two dimensional in spotlights. Aftershock Part 1 and her anger at Terra was some of her greatest character stuff ever.
Deception: WHEN have the Titans ever done undercover stuff before this episode? I can't think of a single example.
The Beast Within: I can agree with this. But Robin doesn't.
Bunny Raven: Best original song, yes. But Am I Blue gets a ten on the awesome scale.
I shouldn't have said *only* in spotlights, Raven is good in some other episodes too. I just feel that in many episodes that don't focus on her, she's just there to spout off the occasional sarcastic comment.
I guess for undercover, I was just thinking about "Masks"...which wasn't all that effective anyway...and then later on in "Employee of the Month", if that even counts.
"Am I Blue" was awesome, but it loses points for not being a complete song. Batman in the spotlight is a great visual, but "Master of Your Fate" had so many off the wall sight gags.
There have been about three shows I've loved since the pilot, Futurama is one of them.
LLLiS - Zapp is a great character, I'm glad they introduced him so early and established his...whatever it is...with Leela.
Bot Planet - Really loved the robot council.
Hell is Other Robots - That music number was really enjoyable.
Mars University - Wasn't crazy about Tress' voice for Gunther either.
When Aliens Attack - Sadly, Fry was right about TV and the people who watch it.
Fry and the Slurm Factory - I liked this better than Family Guy's parody. Maybe it's just because I saw this one first, but I loved how threatening the Grunka Lunkas were.
Mars University: Tress gets entirely too much VO work. REALLY overrated actress.
When Aliens Attack: Absolutely. Although I think there are more surprising TV shows than Fry does. You just have to look for them.
Fry and the Slurm Factory: The Grunka Lunkas were cool here. I think as parody of Willy Wonka it was spot-on but the Slurms MacKenzie part seriously lowers my grade. Seriously, a Spuds MacKenzie parody? In 2000?
I didn't even know who Spuds MacKenzie was, but I loved Slurms. The final revelation of him wanting to just watch some movies with his friends and his bloodshot eyes always makes me laugh. And let's not forget "Wimmy Wham Wham Wozzle!"
Spuds was the commercial mascot for Budweiser in the eighties. He was a dog surrounded by beautiful women who loved to party. Most ridiculous advertising campaign EVER.
