uninformed voters seem to be the theme this election, at least in the media. i try not to get too into politics anymore. i love political theory and discussion, but oftentimes people just like to have an uninformed opinion about things. it's important to seek knowledge and understanding in anything that we do. we should have clear reasons for doing ( Read more... )

Listen I was just scrolling through journals starting from Chuck, to Nidia than Brenda and somehow I got here and read your latest entry. You mention these political ideas around than add the cross references to the bible, well this kind of like really bothered me a lot. You see what it seems to me is that your trying to compare factual political idealogy for which we have data, to (and I mean no insult by this cause I know you're Christian) the bible for which all we know could be the greatest story ever written... However than I thought to my self he makes a great point about not adopting other peoples ideas just because it's easy or more so traveled by. So in a way I guess it just bothered me a little, and well Thomas Jefferson did say man is political by nature so I felt it necesarry to give my two sense. Well that's all, happy trails.

thank you for your input, but i never said adopt my ideals, but i was stating mine, since this is my livejournal. i know where i find truth. also, political ideology is not necessarily something "factual" or measurable. numbers are not people nor a society. we have yet to find the perfect system because it does not exist, and in my opinion can exist, as long as man isn't the one in control. i was telling how we shouldn't accept anything without reason. my thoughts were inspired by politics, but my focus was not. my focus was reasoning for anything. i don't want people to accept Christ because i said so, but i was sharing part of my reasoning for it. also, point out the political ideals that i cross reference to the bible... i only mentioned politics in the first few lines.
