Cover Art for the MoC trilogy

Jun 29, 2011 22:51

Okay so a while ago alexwhitewell did the art for my A Chicago Triptych fanmix, free of charge. I was really stupidly crazy in love with her art and I wanted to pay her ALL THE MONIES, so I saved up a bit and commissioned her for four pieces. One went to the Wonder Beta Grene as a thank you for all her help in keeping MoC going. Three, though, were cover art ( Read more... )

book one, book two, art, book three

My god> you have talented fans. These are PERFECT. The blurry, dreamy quality of the first one that still manages to leave Harry with a 'what the hell have I gotten myself into' look to him, the dispassionate Marcone with his shadowy tiger stripes, and of course the conqueror-king of Chicago with his most troublesome and beloved prize shouldering in on his dignity. XD I love it all.

:laughs: You and your descriptions. Not quite as good as John Marcone, the gyroscope king with his wheels within wheels-- how the hell have I not seen any fic from you? Is it hiding? GO WRITE NIGH-POETIC CHARACTER EXAMINATIONS.

*laughs* I haven't written hardly anything; there's nothing for you to find, sadly! It's much easier to cheer on others' work than it is for me to write my own. Not very good at plotting, you see. Middles are the death of me.

Current wordcount on the next chapter is just under 4000, so it shouldn't be much longer. It's a big plotty one.

Yay!

This will sound ungrateful, but I am looking forward to have the whole book on my ebook reader and rereading it again (and again).

How many books do you think there might be? (the more the merrier from my point of view)

Thanks for the link to your section of archiveofourown, that is where I've found you in the first place (was searching by length and any fandom I like or know). So I've already read all your works there before and now I am reading your bookmarks and the authors' other works :)

Could you recommend some more maybe? I will admit, I am a bit of a bookworm for fanfiction. Fanworm?

Sorry for my English, it is midnight here and my shift just ended.

Currently the plan for Matter of Chicago goes something like this:

Book One -> Marcone's Interlude -> Book Two -> Hendricks' Interlude -> Book Three

Book Two.... is about one-half to two-thirds done. The White Court arc is going to be a doozy, and while I have every step of it outlined, I'm not sure how long it's going to be. We'll see.

If you're looking for a lot of goodies, this set of delicious bookmarks is a great place to start. On AO3, I hope you've already read Near Miss, Only Silence in the Mountains, and every single thing LightGetsIn has written. LGI is easily the best author in the fandom, hands down. It's sick how good she is.

Hope that helps! BTW next chapter of MoC is done, pending a beta.

I squealed unabashedly when I saw these :D
The anticipation is choking me lol; I look forward to your chapters coming out with almost the same fervor that I have towards Ghost Story <3
