I forgot to mention this yesterday

Apparently on YouTube if there's a video that you don't like showing up as a recommendation, you can click the ellipsis next to it and click "Not Interested".

Why did no one tell me about this sooner?! Watching YouTube is going to be SO MUCH more enjoyable thanks to this! :D

(Although in this era, "enjoyable" is a relative term still...)

youtube, videos, tags will come later

Happy birthday!. Also about the YouTube thing it's starting to get annoying for me because it used to always show me on my recommendation page new videos to watch and explore. But now all it does is show me videos I've already seen! It makes me so angry. You can actually click the not interested button and click that you've already seen the video so it won't pop up again. But it's almost pointless because it just shows more videos you've already seen. Apparently it's not just an issue with my YouTube but others and it's really frustrating. used to only show me videos I've never seen before that I might be interested in and now all I ever see is videos I've already seen. It's just frustrating....

anyway happy birthday! I hope you have a wonderful day.

The issue for me is sometimes it's been hard to enjoy YouTube videos I want to watch because the recommended ones are ones with thumbnails or titles that are triggers for me. What qualifies as a trigger for me varies over time; currently I mostly mean bad news or potential bad news regarding the coronavirus, or "funny" memes/videos about the coronavirus that apparently help some people feel better about it but all they do to me is make the pandemic even more annoying.

So, personally I find it VERY useful that there's such a feature. I'd rather it recommend things I've already seen (assuming I liked them the first time) than things that'll upset me. I wish it had existed about a decade ago (or I'd known about it if it did)...

To each their own, though. :)
