I'm still here

It's been a while since I posted anything... to tell you the truth, it's hard to motivate myself to post anything since I don't WANT to end up posting about nothing but anxiety, but that ends up being what I do anyway (apparently even when I'm trying to also post about other things, and sometimes even when I'm not actually all that anxious ( Read more... )

I started keeping a paper journal for my anxiety. That helps me focus on my LJ

Thanks for the suggestion!

While that sounds like a good idea in theory, and it sounds like it works for you, I'm not sure how well it'd work in my case. If I'm anxious about being disliked for, for example, having a particular opinion or having said or done something in the past, then generally the best way for me to get through that fear is to tell a few people that I trust about it. And sometimes that requires me to post about it in here.

You aren't going to be criticized, that's just your fear talking. You post about whatever you want. Hugs.

It's your journal. You can literally post about whatever. I try not to post too much but I also want to post positive things the most time I find myself just posting about my depression and anxiety. But hey I can post whatever. I have a real journal in real life but it's pretty much the same. It's kind of my venting thing.

Also don't worry about posting about politics or recent events in the world. I honestly like when people talk about themselves more than that. Politics is just ridiculous :-)

Same here. There's so many positive/funny things I want to post about, but can't because it feels like it'd be bad timing either because of the coronavirus or because it's so soon after so many negative posts.

I feel the same way!

I wouldn't be concerned with not posting about it enough except that when I posted this entry - which I thought of as a GOOD entry, mostly, because while I started out with a bit about 2020 being a bad year for me so far, I posted about things I want to do to make it a GOOD year and things I'm suddenly nostalgic about - warranted a comment on DW about how continents are on fire and if I think "this" is a real concern (it's unclear exactly what part of the entry "this" is referring to) then I ( ... )

Everyone has different worries and no one should feel bad about it. There will ALWAYS and I say it loud ALWAYS be someone else or somewhere else that has it worse. That does not mean you are not allow to vent. We are humans and expression is the most human thing we can do. It is healthy. Of course that being said we must not forget the good things around us. Must not let the darkness cloud the beauty that sits in front of us. But, don't feel bad about expressing. <3
