Matthew took a deep breath and stared out over the ocean.
'Marriage...God what does that even mean?'
'It means families torn apart because the parents can no longer get along. It means pain and suffering and it can only end in divorce.'
Matthew swallowed. Did he really believe that? Did he even believe that could happen between him and Lars? Truth be told Matthew didn't even know WHY his parents got divorced. Why they started arguing, or where their troubles even began. He only knew that their fights got louder and longer and they became more and more angry at each other.
Matthew chanced a glance back at his boyfriend and noticed there seemed to be some sort of turmoil behind his eyes.
A thought entered Matthew's mind, small...and causing just a bit of hope to blossom in his chest.
'Lars has loving parents...and they're still together. You could SEE how much they loved each other even through the computer screen. I want that kind of love with Lars.'Matthew bit his lip for a moment, then clicked his tongue ring against his teeth

Matthew bit his lip and looked away from Lars, tears starting to sting at the corners of his eyes. Damn but why did he have to be so emotional? He grew up hearing that boys and men didn't cry, but if he was too overwhelmed with emotion it happened anyway.
He reached up and wiped at his eyes, knocking his glasses askew, and looking back at Lars. He fixed his glasses and swallowed and released his lip from between his teeth. "I..." There were so many emotions whirling around inside of Matthew's head and chest, he didn't know where to start or if he could even voice any of them.
"Lars you...you leave me speechless...a lot." A slight blush colored his cheeks. "I'm glad you're following your heart, though. Especially since it's lead you to me." He took a deep breath and tried to clear his head from the whirlwind he and Lars had just gone through.
"What do you say we go get ready to jet ski, and find Alfred and Kiku and see if they want to try it, too. But I'm gonna be honest. I've never actually been jet skiing before. Alfred has, but I
"Sure liefje," Lars agreed quietly, but before he let his love go, he carefully removed Matt's glasses and kissed each of his eyes in turn. He knew the tears were not ones to be concerned about, but he kissed them away still and cupped Matthew's face in his hands. The glasses dangled off to the side between his fingers.
Lars took his time kissing his way down to Matthew's mouth, where he captured his lips without regard to who might be watching. He kissed him thoroughly and completely, sealing their conversation with a tender promise all its own. He pulled away slowly and placed Matt's glasses back onto his nose, tucking his hair behind his ears and looking him over with eyes that finally held peace.
"Let's go," he smiled warmly and took Matt's hand, leading them back to their room to get ready for the day's events.
