 I really do feel I should try and write regular updates again. Of the type that make you guys feel you actually know what is going on in my life. Because, believe it or not, the break-up isn't the only thing on my mind. So here's some of the news

Thank God I haven't got dyslexia... Which doesn't prevent me from making really stupid mistakes at times - and I haven't even got an excuse! But in all honest modesty, I do think I am doing quite well, since my students seem to understand (most of) what I'm saying. I love my students. Well, they're not just mine, of course, I'm sharing them. But I love them anyway!

I totally agree with you that there is too little critical thinking in the field, and in most academic fields! I think it is very important, which it is one of my priorities to teach. I know that not all students will read the material and have it prepared (they are first years, after all...), but if last year is anything to go by, some will, and they will learn a lot.

Yes, wearing make-up is fun, and I am enjoying it. Though it learned today that wearing make-up when it's raining...? Not a good idea! Ah well, we live and learn.

Yes, I have been worried about finding friends here and I am surprised at how easily it actually is! On the one hand I am of course putting myself out there more, but on the other, it also just seems to be happening to me. Somebody must be looking out for me... :)
