I still need to read that book, if only because it's the year I was born.
Yeah, there's an initiative to try and teach comprehensive sexual education in schools, and special interest groups are already lining up to say that they're going to do everything in their power to derail it. Some guy named Kempsey, I think, is leading that group.
ORLY? I want to runaway to France! Except they treat illegal immigrants like the US treats Mexicans ... ;___;
I love those dystopian future sci-fi stories that act as social commentary. Need to read "A Clockwork Orange" too, while I'm at it.
Yeah, I know, but the more metropolitan an area, the less likely you are to encounter that kind of closed-mindedness because everyone is progressing. It's the "charm" of the rural areas, to be more old-fashioned.
Yeah, and yet the dollar is growing weaker rather than stronger. And they say war helps to stimulate the economy. :/
This time next year, I swear to god I'll be able to hold you and say it'll be okay. One way or another.
I wish I could say more than that, but... god, you're right and it's scary. I can't say much more than that. (I'm not good at this whole "comforting" thing....)
That really means a lot to me. I'm going to have to scramble to get a job while going to school for the last two semesters so I can be in a position to move out as soon as I graduate. I don't want to have to stay at home longer than neccessary, and I really don't want to have to ask my dad for financial support, even if it's only for the first month or two.
No, no! You really are good at the whole "comforting thing," honest!
Hooray for funny icon. I still need to macro that.
Urgh, but that's the thing. I want to be financially stable/secure before leaving the state. That way, no awkward asking for money/sleeping in my car/begging for change. Then I can focus on looking for a job up there, but still be able to pay for rent.
Jordan, no. MJ, MFY.
If only. I don't visit much anymore. I should probably check it out this week.
Man, that sucks. I can't really say I understand because we don't really have anything like that over here, but... Damn. All I can say is that if they're old, they're not long for this world, at least. (God, that sounds so callous, but it's how I feel.)
Carry on holding up! *hugs* Where were you thinking of going?
No, its not! See, there's this conspiracy theory that my friends came up with. All the old people come to Florida to retire, right? And because they can't see very well, they get into lots of accidents (expecially with teenagers) and usually the youngsters end up getting killed because they don't always buckle up. And many of them are organ donors. So the old folks harvest the organs of the kids they run over, thereby prolonging their life so they can live FOREVAR!
Wanting to move to Cincinnati so that I can be close to a friend of mine up there. Would really love to settle down in France, one day. The dollar keeps falling like this, there's gonna be reverse immigration, I know it.
Ah, yes, another Brit. We have quite a few of them over on DDD. Gotta love the Internet, connecting people from all over the world!
I do both. At the same time. It scares people. XD
Paris is only one of many places I'd like to see. Not sure if I'd want to live in the city, but Amiens and Toulouse sound nice. At least the weather is warmer than in Cincinnati! And you are so lucky to have actually travelled outside the country. I've barely left my own state. ;___;
No! You must not run away! You are the new generation, the hope of the future! All those old people will be dead soon, and who will be there to take over when they're gone? Only brave young people like YOU can save Florida!
But its way too expensive to live here! The native Floridians don't make enough money to buy homes because all the rich snow birds buy up all of our property! Not only that, but educators won't live down here because we won't pay them enough or give them any incentive to stay.

France, huh? XD I've only ever seen Paris, but I'm sure it's very beautiful. :)
