Theme success!

After a great deal of trial and error, I now have what I would consider a freaking sweet setup on my desktop.  For anyone who might be interested (and runs Windows 7; don't know how well things work on 8) I have managed to get all the steps and links organized and compiled.  For the record, I make no claim to having done anything more than ( Read more... )

This is very cool! Is there any way to acquire or unpack just the sound files? I'm a Mac user so this "themepack" stuff is a foreign language to me (and evidently impossible to parse on my computer), but I would really love to have an archive of Mass Effect sound files to use in various ways!

Thanks so much for the comment! I admit I don't know much about Mac, but I can look into it. My email is elven_art at att dot net. Get with me off list and we'll see what we can figure out.

Just making sure that my email got through. Anytime I use links, it seems they're eaten by the net and spam filters. :D If you didn't get my reply, just let me know.

I really like this, but I'm curious if it will be compatible with WindowBlinds and/or Fences? If so, I'm definitely downloading and installing. If not, maybe I'll just use your sound theme idk. I love the screensaver you found too!

To be honest, I'm not sure. Do those run on 7 or 8? Are they third party modifiers? A quick google check will probably tell. What are they used for? If you decide to play it safe, I could probably just upload the windows sound theme. Shouldn't be too hard to find. Just let me know if you want it that way. So the screensaver worked okay for you as well? Glad to hear!

Well, actually, I just did some checking. (Yes, I am a fully functioning geek 24/7.) I found references to several people running both rainmeter and either blinds or fences, although not all three at once. I would say, it's not likely to break your entire computer. At worst, you might notice a few anomalies and decide to turn off one or the other. But, as I said, if you're ultra cautious, I can just upload the sound file. :D

Thanks for checking all of that out! I'll probably go ahead and try to install the theme because it's ME y'know? I'll let you know how it goes (and will be using your sound pack).

And yes I love the screensaver! I've purposely let it come on just to see the relay, lol. It's the little things that make me happy!
