Interesting bits from the BSN

Mar 15, 2012 23:12

In amongst all the rage, a couple of interesting things re. the endgame have popped up on the BSN. Apologies if these have already been posted in the comments somewhere - I've tried to keep up with posts but will inevitably have missed things.

Cut for ending spoilers.

The fact that neither calls you by name suggests to me these are meant for the beginning, but are incorrectly flagged or something.

Actually, IIRC, all my messages from Kaidan called me 'Commander.' I think. As I stated below, I deleted all mine--but I remember wondering at that.

Hmm. It just sounded weirdly formal to me, but I don't remember the others offhand. That, or it's intended to be generic to all Shepards and so they didn't inject any intimacy.

I now really really wish I hadn't deleted those messages so I could confirm one way or another...

I can confirm, however, that it appears to be ending specific. I picked 'destroy', got the 'Shepard lives!' clip and received this message. One of my friends picked 'synthesis' and didn't get this message when she grabbed the app. Another friend initially picked 'synthesis' by accident, reloaded to pick 'destroy' and didn't get it either.

I gave this summary of my save game shenanigans on BSN:

I beat the game. A day later I started a new one, and saved it at the earliest possible point, just after the Reapers attacked Vancouver (ah, Van, how I love watching your destruction...ahem).

The next day I downloaded the app. Got a whole back of messages from my finished game. The top one was the one from Kaidan pictured. I puzzled over it, because I wasn't sure which playthrough it was from, but the date seemed to imply it was from my finished game!)

Deleted my new game (for a silly reason--it was an imported Shepard whose face I tweaked a bit, I didn't like the tweaks, and thought since I was so very early in, might as well re-import her). Started another new one, got as far as the Citadel, Have received one message from Anderson, and not the Kaidan one...so I think it was the end bit from my finished game...I'll add for further detail that because I wanted the full 'messages during gameplay' experience I did delete all my messages, but I stared at that ( ... )

SO DO I.

Yeah, I didn't have enough EMS either, so I'm currently working on it (ilu Datapad), and then I intend to do the same. Here's hoping...

I love the datapad. I'm checking it while working, and I love how little effort it takes for me to raise my score :D

Yes! I love it. I thought it was going to take forever, but I finished the game on Tuesday night with only 52% (I briefly gave Infiltrator a go beforehand), and I'm up to 60% already just with Datapad. And I love that I can quickly assign fleets while I'm at work, too. It's awesome. :D

(And I love that it doesn't decay like Readiness from the MP does!)

Sweet tapdancing Elvis, yes. At this rate I'm going to be mainlining Kahlua and vodka before Sunday.

I'm pretty sure those are supposed to be for the beginning of the game, and they're trying to see you in the proverbial clink.

I thought this might be the case too, but then there's this article:

"This is clearly not from the start of the game, as Shepard makes a comment to Kaidan/Ashley about how they have not tried to contact him/her the entire time s/he’s been incarcerated."

So I don't even know. :S
