I love the idea of a den in the second bedroom--get something convertible, like a Månstad, for guests, and put a desk or papazan in there for "work". This way you can separate your living room "vegetation" with reading and writing. Yes, I said writing. Don't think I've forgotten.
Also, don't bother me about my own writing obligations.
I definitely want a convertible sofa. My folks are talking about getting me an airbed while they're up here too (so--even more guest crash-space).
There is a "baby room" opposite the second bedroom/den area that I'm thinking will be a good work area--for crafting stuff and my desk and computer. Its walls are painted Kermit-green at present, but I can do something about that.
And I will be getting back to my writing. It'll be a lot easier when the activity has its own distraction-free space.
