I've listened to it a million times and it never occurred to me how perfect it was for Erik. ^^"

I want to make some icons for the other mutants too, and yet I end up iconing only Charles and Erik, Those two colonized my brain. XD

Haha, that can happen. It was a slow epiphany, just like the late addition of "Please don't go" *facepalm*.
Niiiice. I'm liking your icons, already.
Completely understandable. Charles can be pretty persuasive when he's in your mind ;)

Besides Charles or Erik, do you have a favourite character?

Definitely Mistique. Her perfomance was amazing, and I loved how her character grew during the movie. The Mutant And Proud line put tears in my eyes (or, you know, added more. I was already crying at that point).

Shaw was a fascinating character. Evil and cruel and repulsive, and yet charming. Such a complex villain.

Agreed, although Hank has a special place in my heart just for being such an adorably awkward dork. But Charles' and Raven's meeting was one of the highlights during the movie; her smile was endearing, and it made me wonder (what do you? Plot-bunny!) about Charles' family and Raven's adoption.

I cried too, don't worry. I was tearing up through the whole damn thing. It was ridiculous how much of a good ride this film is.

Shaw's a good character--goes without saying it's Kevin Bacon--, but by the time we got to the second act I felt he was too much of a villain's caricature. Too evil just for the sake of being evil -- because, he's evil so NATURALLY he had to be a Nazi and the OF COURSE he had to be the one behind the Cuban Missile Crisis. Dunno, felt like it was too much of a stretch, but those plot details aside, I DID enjoy his interactions with Erik. Their scenes together were powerful!

(ARGH! I need an Erik/Charles icon!)

As for the lyrics, it's uncanny how well they fit sometimes. From titles like "Eric's song" to little parts in the lyrics like "my friend" on the Red Hot Chili Peppers' song, it's a treat to find these bits & pieces. Now, to specifics from each song:
Swallowed in the sea: I'd try quoting all the parts from this one that make me think of them, but I'd basically be writing down the entire song, so I won't, but it fits the ideas Charles is trying to teach Erik so well, man. (The bit where they say "What goal is it to live with nothing left to give, forget but not forgive, not loving all you see" makes me think of Erik so much, somehow)
White Shadows: This one feels about the same sort of mood as the previous song. It's still in the whole 'convincing you to stay...you know, if you want to' sort of plan, except it feels like Charles is sort of starting to open up more to Erik.
Room to Breathe: I gotta say, I hate how this Anthony Rapp sings. Seriously. Anyway, the firstpart of the song before the first chorus still feels the same as ( ... )

Eric's Song: As I've mentioned before, the very title is amazing. I'll mention a stupid thing I thought about when I heard this one. "Like a phoenix you rise from the ashes" reminded me of Jean/Phoenix. Right, well, with that out of the way, this is such a romantic song. A sort of I know how you feel and why you feel that way and I understand it (the whole "acknowledging the past") and how they're OK with taking their relationship in a certain direction ("how swiftly we choose it, the sacred simplicity of you at my side").
Every Breath You Take: So this song has always made me think of a stalker and it's a seriously creepy song. But it's sort of a possessive deal here with these two and a whole 'you're always on my mind' deal (which is so cute and yet sexy) which will later on bring them pain for this very reason. Moving along.
The Ladder: Gotta say I loved this song. Like, a lot. We're still in a romantic mood here, and how Erik's been changed, or both have, really (from "faithless you and selfish me" to "sentimental you and faithful ( ... )

Run: This one breaks my heart, seriously. It sets the 'we've made a fuck-off huge mess here' mood ("I'm sorry, my friend, but we do not" with McAvoy's puppy face and Fassy craddling him ;A; )
Hurt: A song about regret (albeit a little emo) for Erik. Very melancholic (as the FST is to become till the end IMO), very nice.
The Awkward Goodbye: Sort of a romantic one still, but a very sad one at that. Again, tightens my chest to hear this one carefully. They know their paths have taken them in different directions, but there's a ceetain...longing which they try to ignore.
In My Veins: As said in earlier songs, they're part of each other now and "I cannot get you out". Such a sad one, yet again. I insist, great mood setters.
Comfortably Numb: Hinter earlier? ;) A change of mood now. "He's left a bit of a gap", I believe Magneto says near the end of FC. It's melancholy but definitely different from previous songs. Still a strong song, but going down tone-wise.
Armchairs: This one feels like a 'time will heal all wounds, this rift'. It's ( ... )
