No Such Thing as Happily Ever After

Yes, Beauty and the Beast is my favorite movie of all time, but I'm not sure I like the ending anymore. I've been thinking about this for a while and reached my conclusion: in the end, his beastliness is part the charm that attracts her to him. So when he becomes a prince, he isn't interesting anymore.

But does this mean that it would have been a better ending if he had stayed a beast forever and married her like that? I don't know; I think I need to watch the movie again.
