my music

I totally messed up my sleeping patterns lately - bothered alternatively by some pretty vivid nightmares (one caused me to wake up screaming - I was on the far side of  the other room in three seconds flat... afterwards I barred the door to my bedroom and stayed out of it for a week!) and bouts of insomnia, I catch whatever sleep whenever I can. as ( Read more... )

Aw man honey I'm so sorry about your messed up sleep. Not funny :/ And wow that must have been a serious nightmare there :O *scares away all evil from your appartment*

Placebo is great, yes :D And I see you managed to mix your moodthemes ;D

Hope you'll get through the day! *hugs*

I generally have some really vivid dreams lately - yes, mostly of nightmarish nature but two days ago I woke up giggling O.o I just don't know what's going on with me - what changed that suddenly I remember so many of my dreams so clearly and can sometimes mistake them for reality (that's what happened with THE nightmare :/)? btw, last night you were in my vivid dream! and I assure you, you weren't responsible for nightmare parts of it :).

messed up sleep is partly due to these dreams, partly due to stress, as I already wrote you... no fun, definitely *sighs*

I don't know that many Placebo songs, but the ones I do know, I like :).

'And I see you managed to mix your moodthemes ;D'
yes, I did :D. it's of course totally by accident, that I got Dean on this entry ;).

the day is not bad, though I am sleepy... but I have only an hour to go, so I should be okay.

OH! Phew, I'm just SO glad I wasn't responsible for any nightmares :{ What did I do? ;)

I had phases too where I remembered my dreams pretty good almost every night... and then there are these other phases like right now, where I can't remember anything for weeks.
When I still did pharmaceutics I had nightmares very often... that obviously was a sign, lol.
Do you think your nightmares could have something to do with the PhD thoughts?

God, now that sounds like a really bad nightmare what you had!

I hope you managed to sleep last night, insomnia is not fun. For a while I used to go to sleep really late (like 4am) until it reached a point that my sleeping patterns were all messed up and I didn't fall asleep at night at all. Now I go at 2am, but I almost never get to go sooner just because my body rejects to sleep.

*hugs*

yes, it was BAD :/. but I'm no longer afraid of falling asleep in my bedroom - YAY!

I managed to fall asleep just after 4 AM last night... it lately starts to look like norm for me, so I think I'm starting to follow in your footsteps... 2 AM doesn't sound so bad by comparison. but I still have hope that a nice long sleep during weekend would make things right again. I think I have to be able to suffer through the day without afternoon nap for my sleeping patterns to straighten up and it's simply not possible on workday, because by the time I get home after work I'm too exhausted to stay up - forcing my body to do so would equal torture, me thinks. I long for the weekend, it's my only hope...

*hugs back*

It's a good thing that weekends exist, I use to sleep until LATE on Sundays.

Yeah, I'm sorry about the insomnia. I'll get it just once in a blue moon but very, very rare, and usually only on Sunday nights if/when I've taken a long nap in the afternoon. But I say it's because I've already paid my due: when I was in 3rd-4th grade, I went through a time where I could not sleep at night. At all. It was terrible. Looking back, I think it's because I was going to a really tough private school and I was just so stressed all the time about school. Once I woke up my mom and told her that I hadn't finished my math homework. It was the middle of the night! And another time, my dad said I sleepwalked to the kitchen, which I don't remember at all. Now I'm just so exhausted by the time I fall into bed that I'm usually out within minutes ( ... )

oh yeah, insomnia on Sunday night - that's usually when my messed up week begins, lol. and it's not always because of naps, either *sighs*.

I haven't really had it as bad as you in the past. you poor thing! it sounds really terrible, what you went through - sleepwalking and stress-related insomnia is dreadful. it's good that these times are over for you, though falling asleep from sheer exhaustion for prolonged time isn't all that healthy either. I hope you'll be able to not be so overworked soon *hugs*

yup, Roswell is where my love for Lifehouse and Sarah McLachlan started :). I got to know Delerium there too :). "Fumbling towards ecstasy" almost made my list too - at the last moment it was overthrown by "Black" :).

I totally believe you - I probably wouldn't know your favourite artist, because my knowledge of contemporary Christian music is almost nonexistant. the only song I can name from the top of my head is "Here with me" by Mercy Me :). not impressive, I know.

Messed up sleep patterns suck. *hugs* I've been battling insomnia for years, but I'm pretty sure it's because work interferes with my sleeping patterns. If I had a say in it, there'd be NO way to get me up and running before noon. ;)

I'm really liking this meme thing. It brings me a whole lot of new music to experience! I've never before heard of Delerium but will search them up now and you reminded me of Heather Nova and Sarah Mclachlan who I only know from three or four songs (all of wich I loved, especially "Black").
Frou Frou entered my life in a form of YouTube Jack themed video that features her version of Bonnie Tyler's "Holding out for a Hero". I've always liked the song and the version is excellent, but I haven't searched anything else by Frou Frou. Will now do just that. :)

oh, you and me both! I wish I could work in a more task-related system, not this 8 to 4 rubbish. I'd definitely work more efficiently late evenings :P.

"Holding out for a hero" nearly made the cut, lol - it succumbed to "Shh", in the end, but it was a close call :).

if you want to, I can send you at least these songs, I listed, so you could have a sample :). that way if you don't like this music, at least you wouldn't say it wasn't worth all the effort you put into acquiring it ;). just let me know. :)
