This I couldn't agree more and it isn't only in LOTR. I think it is worse in the HP fandom.

Sidhia tolkienii is probably one of the most irritating sues. It gets worse when it crosses worlds like HP. A hybrid of this sue and that of those in HP is enough to give sueologists a field day over the new specimens that they would find there.

Massacred canon characters are worse than sues if you ask me. To turn a perfectly wonderful character into a sniffling, backstabbing, annoying woman or girl is downright sacrilege!

Like that Legomance that paired Celebrian with Legolas. That is wrong on so many levels.

*looks in horror* OMG. You gotta be kidding me right? I mean I know of people wanting Legolas to end up with Arwen and all but Celebrian? Next thing I know it will be Galadriel they'll be pairing up with Legolas.

I think the poor girl thought, 'Ooh, no-one done this pairing before. It's so original everyone will love it.' Bless her, all she got were outraged canon freaks and Elrond/Celebrian shippers. Of which I'm both. ^_^

I think she learned a lesson: There is such a thing as orignal rubbish.

The amusing image occurs to me of Arwen taking the advice of this post and hiring a hit squad to keep an eye on Aragorn (and, co-incidentally, Legolas)...anyone care to take me up on this? I'd write it myself but I have four other plots needing my attention right now.
