World's shortest commute on ice

Not even joking. Coming home was interesting - it's been snowing since about 3pm, dumping a couple of inches of very powdery snow, the kind that slides out from under your foot, on top of a couple of inches of compacted ice and frozen ground ( Read more... )

I think you need to get those chains... Or skates. At this point, either works. Although it can continue snowing if it likes, decent amounts of snow are STILL easier to walk on than ice, 'specially black ice. Looks like we'll have a mini thaw this weekend, though.

Yeah, sure. 'Cos thaw or no thaw, the deep freeze is apparently here to stay til New Year.
