Road Trip

This post comes to you from beautiful downtown Kellogg Idaho. I tried for Coeur d'Alene, but they wanted upwards of $150 for a Quality Inn room. Kellogg is much cheaper, but I have no cell phone signal here and almost no wifi signal. Sigh. If I'd gotten to leave when I wanted to I'd have been somewhere in Montana, but my damn insurance company

I do envy you the driving, ditto the plot- and generalwriting-noodling. I know about having all the things in your head and not being able to write them down.

Well, goodness knows I'm not as depressed as I was in June. But I have a really nasty hair trigger temper. I can go from mild and unconcerned straight to homicidal in about 30 seconds and I have real trouble with, ah, impulse control. I seem to be stuck in the second stage of grief.

I'm taking I-90 east until I hit, um, I think it's I-25 and taking that south into Denver. I was going to check it on the map before I head out this morning. I haven't decided on my route to Austin yet. I'm incapable of thinking past the Hugo Awards ceremony at this point. Though I vaguely intend to take one of the southern interstates west out of Austin and go north up through Utah. Vaguely

Heh. Yeah. Driving through Kansas or Nebraska the long way does much the same. I've been to Montana before but I few in so I've not driven there. On this trip I'm adding Idaho and Wyoming to my state list. Then I'll have all the states west of the MIssissippi except the Dakotas. May be time for a trip to the badlands soon!

Sure. Thursday dinner is taken and Saturday is just impossible. But I'm pretty much up for any other time. Note that as soon as I answer this I'm closing my computer and getting back on the road so you may not hear from me until tonight.

I haven't done a road trip since last summer when I drove from Seattle to SF and back. I like road trips.
