Preparing for battle.

The Stealth team for the assault on the New Mexico base should be assembling soon, so Cable can bodyslide them to where they need to be. He's got his GPS navigator set on a chair, working on determining the right coordinates, monitoring their communications traffic, all that good stuff ( Read more... )

Monet walks through the door, currently in the process of pulling her hair back into a tight ponytail. She is wearing a red body suit with yellow armored plating, her old Gen-X uniform. She hasn't exactly been a member of the X-men, and didn't really need a special crime fighting suit doing investigative work and minor heroing. Luckily the damn thing still fits.

Her hair secured, the snide Algerian pauses, hands on hips, and looks at Cable. "Overcompensating much?"

"Now there's a uniform I havn't seen in a while" Sean comments to his former student, walking in only a few moments after her. Of course, he isn't going to be late for this mission.

With his powers still not at full strength, he's armed himself. Two simple GLOCK .45's are holstered at the waist of his uniform- a simple black armored suit, trimmed in red, cut in a military style. Yellow and green stripes don't exactly do 'stealth' very well.

He eyes Cable's weapon. "That's your idea of stealth?"

Cable's eye glows a little at Monet's remark. "Pray you never find out."

Sean's a little more welcomed, and he manages a smirk. "I'm on the Noise team, Sean. This is definitely my idea of noise."

She merely rolls her eyes at Cable's display of machismo, but smiles ever-so-slightly at Mr. Cassidy, er, Sean.

Folding her arms she leans back, resting her posterior against a table ledge. "I'll need to put in for a better one if I plan on sticking around, but it'll do for now."

Forge's arrival is telegraphed by the whir of a hover sled bearing a number of unmarked crates of varied sizes following the mutant inventor.

"Sorry about the delay. I had a few things to collect before I left home"

Cable's setting aside his ridiculously huge gun that's surprisingly light.

"Hopefully they're useful," Nate returns. "Thanks for coming."

Occasionally he remembers to be mildly gracious.

"No problem. For something like this, you can assume I'm in."
Forge replies grimly.

He looks back the automated sled and it's cargo.

"I've recently updated my mutant signiature detection baffles."
He hands Nate a handful of study yet small X Men "X" buttons.

"They adhere to most material. So long as you are in three feet of one, you could camp out on a Sentinel's head and it would see you as baseline human."

Cable nods, looking them over.

"Good. We can definitely expect Sentinels. Psi-bafflers would be handy - we've got one heavy-duty mindfucker behind this."

Northstar walks, giving the anti-grav sled and its cargo a look that hovers between between curious and disdainful. He's still in his Alpha Flight skins. Most of his prep period was spent making sure that his blood sugar is unlikely to plummet at the worst possible time and binding up his ribs in the hopes that they won't chew on him too badly. There's an advantage, he supposes, to having no earthly idea why he's involving himself in this: no grounds for doubts, you just do what you need to.

Cable gets a double-take that's fast enough to be nearly undetectable.

'Even Box didn't go around with that much hardware strapped to himself,' Beaubier thinks wryly.

Monet nods slightly in Jean-Paul's direction, raising a few gloved fingers off her arm in a gesture of greeting.

Northstar nods in acknowledgement and drifts over.

"Who are we waiting on?"

Eternal patience. The trademark of the speedster.

Cable continues to set aside more weaponry.

"The ninja hacker that got us our location in the first place."

Kitty appears through a far wall, hair pulled neatly back, dressed in a simple yellow-lined black uniform that covers all but her head. She carries no weapons in her hands, but there's a knife concealed in her boot and... that's about it. She doesn't really see the need for big weapons when she can destroy someone's central nervous system simply by phasing through their spine.

She eyes Cable's weapon with a quirk of an eyebrow, but says nothing.

Stealth mission - her kind of assignment, the kind of thing she's good at. Wolverine must be glad to know that her training isn't going to waste, at least.

Cable senses it when she enters the room, and just nods, slinging a holster over his shoulder.

"Good, the gang's all here. Let's let Q here tell you all the cool gadgets you'll get to use today."

In the doorway, there's a familiar face that's always recognizeable, thanks to the M-scar over his eye, even though he's dressed in a black suit and overcoat rather than the blue and yellow he usually wears.

He waves Cable over to him.

Nate looks as though he expected this, and rather than draw attention to this by heading over there, he just thinks at the man.

Good to see you, Bishop. You want in on this, or you here to bureaucrat me?

It's been a while since he's been around telepaths.

All you told me was that you're attacking a military base, and that's enough to get me out here, now that I'm FBI. I really don't want to turn this into some ridiculous fight, so give me the whole story.

He smirks.

Thought that might get your attention. The base is where this 'cure' operation is headquartered. They've got Moira MacTaggart alive and forced to cooperate there. SWORD agents are working with aliens from something called Breakworld to eliminate mutants, but there's something ELSE at work here that makes me think it's a lot more than meets the eye. Something that needs to be shot at until it falls. You in, or are you gonna make a federal case out of this?
