The mansion was decorated to the hilt with holly, tinsel, mistletoe, lights and other symbols of the festive season. A large Christmas tree decorated with brilliant lights and ornaments stood proudly in the recreation room. Presents had already appeared underneath, bright paper and bows beckoning people to take a peek to see who they belonged to

Bob is not an Avenger, but he's been invited to take part in the celebration. He's avoiding eating or drinking right now, but he's watching the others enjoy themselves.

Cassie was just going to ignore that Previous encounter. In fact, she was going to forget about it entirely. It wasn't like she had anything to worry about. Unless that hair somehow miraculously managed to have a follicle still attached and really, what were the odds?

She spotted the Uranian guest and stared. Spaceman suit? Was he an alien? Whatever he was, she bet he knew a lot of stuff. It was time to be inquisitive.

Cassie approached Bob and gave him a friendly smile. "Hello, I haven't seen you here before."

He nods to her. "I'm Bob Grayson." He extends his hand. "This is my first time to the Avengers' Mansion."

Cassie shook his hand. "Welcome. I'm Cassie Lang. My dad's an Avenger." It felt weird not being able to introduce herself as a Young Avenger, well, former Young Avenger. Maybe she should have worn the mask just for old times.

A massive mummy stands in the corner, watching the others, a Santa hat sitting on his head at a cocked angle.

Hank Pym has a cup of liquid refreshment in his hand.

And he's looking at the mummy curiously. It's not like Jarvis or Jan to mix holiday decorations.

The mummy turns to gaze at the one looking at him. "...happy... holidays," it offers.

Hank blinks.

Then lifts a cup to the thing.

"Right back at you, man."

Still unsure as to whether this is a decoration or an actual... mummy. That is a good guy.

An Avengers Christmas Party? Oh, you bet your ass Hank was there.

He even had a Santa hat for the occasion.

Natasha took a break from playing the piano for a bit. When she spotted Big Blue, she had to go and say hello.

"Hello Hank," she said with a smile. "Merry Christmas."

"Natasha!" Hank beamed. "A merry Christmas to you as well. Lovely to see you, as always. Warren and Bobby send their regards."

"It's good to see you, Hank. You're looking as handsome as ever. Give Bobby and Warren my warmest wishes."

Sharon arrived a little late after being invited by Scott. The problem was she had no clue what to get him. Even reading his SHIELD file didn't help much.

She went with a gigantic set of K'nex and new sweater. There was another small gift. It was a bottle of Steve's favorite cologne. She had to get him something. She brought the gifts with her.

Sharon noticed the look and ignored it. She searched for Scott.

Except someone else found her first.

The king of Wakanda makes a courteous appearance, making the rounds with his beloved Ororo Monroe, neither of whom anyone likely expected her.

And since he's wearing a suit instead of his Panther garb, the younger members of the team can start to scramble to place his identity - is it Falcon? Rage? Black Goliath? Let the speculation begin.

Indeed, the only Avengers she's on familiar terms with are Wanda, a courteous association with Tony Stark since the previous charity poker tournament, and their own lovable Hank McCoy, of course.

As they circulate, she teases lowly. "I wonder... is it possible that these holiday celebrations will end with one of the younger Avengers, or elder for that matter, crashing through a wall or some bit of furniture? I wish to be prepared for flying objects." Not that it would faze Ororo if it happened. It's almost an annual event at the X-Mansion.

"If tradition holds, we may likely need your help in fending off another assault from The Wrecking Crew," he says, with a slight smile. "Or an accidental one from Hercules. Beware of hurtling maces."

"Or tankards of ale or mead, maybe? I have failed to glean anything from Beast about past parties here, despite attempts of bribery. The only response is a solemn, 'whatever happens at Avengers mansion, stays at Avengers mansion' and then his face turns a delightful shade of violet."
