In case of boredom, do a backflip (open to people at the Xavier Institute)

Oct 26, 2008 12:44

Rylee was bored out of her skull. With the Institute being on lockdown, that meant she couldn't even leave the school grounds - not even just to rollerblade. It was frustratingly dull, but she did understand the reason for the lockdown. That was, perhaps, the only thing keeping her from trying to sneak out. There were a lot of people out to ( Read more... )

Lucy rolled in in a bubble. She liked rolling around in them and right now, with Jay almost all better, she didn't have much to do. Everyone was here too, it seemed like.

Another good thing.

She rolled up behind Rylee and popped the bubble.

"Just stretching before I do some gymnastics," said Rylee, sitting up but still staying in the splits position. "My coach says if I keep working hard at it that I could be in the olympics in four years."

She grinned a bit at that. That would be pretty darned cool. Though people were stupid and racist enough that she probably couldn't be open about being a mutant if she wanted to get into the olympics even if her powers wouldn't do anything to enhance her performance.

"Maybe if I get some combat lessons here and if I'm lucky enough to be as pretty as mom when I'm older, I could be the heroine in an action movie one day, too."

"So you're stretching to be a hero in a movie?" Lucy asked, sitting down next to her friend. They never had money for dance lessons or anything fancy like that, but Lucy would run around a lot, which was about the same thing.

"Ah guess that'd be fun."

"Well, I want to be good enough at gymnastics to get in the olympics," explained Rylee.

"And that means a lot of stretching so you don't hurt yourself. It's easy to get hurt if you don't warm up and stretch a lot. I'd love to be a professional athlete. I'm not the kind of student dad was, and I don't want to be some stupid society girl that only cares about fashion and parties and gossip. Brand names only matter when you want to get the best athletic gear."
