Luckily for them, Carmilla's bike managed to survive a jump off a ledge and plunge into a river. It didn't need a ton of work, so by that evening they were speeding back on their way to New York ( Read more... )

Georgia Jenkins never really had expected to wind up underground, administering free healthcare to a hobo colony, but she'd always offered free healthcare around her neighborhood when she could, and when the homeless went underground, eventually she did too, once she'd found the place ( ... )

Carmilla hung back for now. This was her handy work and she had seen it often enough that she didn't want to get a glance of it now.

Even more so when it was working to kill one of Nate's friends. She felt horrible about it.

Carmilla hadn't gone far. She was sitting in the hall against one of the walls, pulled up into what passed for a ball. Her default 'sulking' pose.

All things considered she didn't use it that often, but it wasn't every day she almost killed her boyfriend's Nate's friends, either. Or anyone, for awhile. Sure, she came close a couple of times, but she had honestly tried to cut the 'accidental death' factor of her powers to a bare minimum. She never took it that well when it popped its head back up.

She'd have to leave shortly too, and not just because she put the leader of this place in a coma that would likely kill him. Now on the last leg of the time she had left, she was more confused than ever.

She soon had company.

He sat down next to her, and nudged her lightly with his arm.

"Hey, you."

Carmilla looked over at him and smiled weakly, "Hey. How is he?"

Another way of asking if he was dead yet. She knew full well what she could do to someone.

"Alive." Still.

He placed a hand on her knee.

"And that's not going to change any time soon."
