Luckily for them, Carmilla's bike managed to survive a jump off a ledge and plunge into a river. It didn't need a ton of work, so by that evening they were speeding back on their way to New York.

There wasn't much conversation on the ride down between Nate and Carmilla, but it was hard to talk anyway when you're doing a buck-fifty on a motorbike. There was, however, a rather lengthy talk between Nate and Noh-varr about what Nate intended to do.

Nate trusted Carmilla, true enough, but Noh didn't. And he was fairly certain that neither he, Noh, nor Carm trusted the people she worked for. As such, Nate felt that at least a heads-up was in order, and Noh-varr felt that certain security precautions were needed.

That's why Nate started giving Carmilla directions on where to go once they got into the city. Those instructions led them through an industrial complex, which had an access point for a series of forgotten tunnels. And speeding through that maze of tunnels, they ended up... at a dead end... miles away from New Hala.

"And... we're here," he told her, hopping off the bike.

All part of the plan. Really...
