Shopping!

It was time to take one of the school vans for this little outing. She almost felt bad, considering the news that was stalking the channels about mutants being stalked by the FBI and more than likely Reverend Stryker. But that's ... she couldn't stop her own life. Or rather it shouldn't stop her from trying to jump start her life again. She checked ( Read more... )

Jubilee ran up, hoping she was only a little late. "Sorry, kiddo with sudden paranoia about parents. Had to stay and talk to the kid."

For her, the news about the FBI and Stryker were excellent reasons to get out. Jubes could use some serious non-thinky time. As far as she was concerned, she was way past due for it.

Jubilee was early, for Jubilee. Paige was leaning on the van when she heard her friend's footsteps and looked up with a grin. "We ran out of pie, too. What a time for this... stuff."

No thinking time would be wonderful for Paige, too. No more tests. And no thinking about... that stuff.

"There was pie? I missed it! That's horrible!"

She looked expectantly at Paige, smiling. Time for a very important question; "So who's driving?"

"Momma went pie crazy." She paused and looked a bit worried. Momma heard her talk without her accent. Oh, man, she's in troooouble.

"I don't have the heart your break yours, though I question my sanity."

A while later, and they were finally at the mall, finally in one of the shops. Jubilee looked around, happy in her element. It had been too long since she'd been shopping in town.

"So, are you done with your classes for now or what?"

It was good to get outside. Even if the weather was starting to turn into summer. Summer was nice, but not the heat. She was quite thankful to get inside. Oh, her family would laugh at her adjustment to AC.

"Well, the tests were for me to avoid all the general education courses so I can go to my advance classes at leisure for the next couple of years." Paige replied.

"Oh. Right. But you're done for the summer? What're you going for, anyway?" That was two of them now, going to college. Almost enough to make Jubilee wonder if she ought to go too.

Nah, school wasn't very Jubilee-friendly.

"English, actually." She could have her degree in almost anything. But for now she decided to keep the focus on literature. Hopefully their would be enough books on tape for her to keep up with missions and her classes. A stupid reason, Paige supposed, but she did enjoy English. "After that, who knows? But I do want to get a degree. Sam was supposed to but... this stuff came up. But you know that story. And yeah, I'm done for the summer."
