And she deserved a good life. Its really all he wanted for her. A life, a real life, one in which she could do whatever she wanted, even if what she wanted was to never see him again.
He owed her that much, that choice among so many, for bringing her back to begin with. He wasn't going to let anyone take that chance away from her now.
Nate Grey is a lot of things. Hardheaded, yes. But he can be a surprisingly quick study.
The same trick never works twice on him.
He's been waiting, watching, feeling the very world around him. He ducked the moment he felt any change in his surroundings, and fought back with a quick elbow aimed low.
Nate doesn't let up his assault. He doesn't hold back his power when he attacks. He can't afford to. A punch, charge by his power, is headed right for Cable's face.
Deadpool, meanwhile, starts to drag Sonique away, making sure she can't backsass him with that shriek of hers.
"What kind of self-righteous bitch sets up shop in someone else's body like this? Thinks they're so goddamned important that they deserve to have two lives and this other person, this woman who's never wanted to harm anyone a day in her life... the most beautiful person I ever knew... who the hell are you to decide your life is more important than hers, you arrogant little skank?!"
God, she still smells like Terry...
"If she's really wiped and gone, I'd rather gut you like a trout than let you continue to let that sick little Andrew-McCarthy-in-Mannequin-except-way-creepier bastard continue to desecrate her body..."
She claws at his arm, gasping for enough breath to scream this rambling psycho down, although she can't help wondering who Andrew McCarthy is and why he was in a mannequin.
His grip is too tight, so she tries kicking at his legs.
And above the sky, a woosh of air and the faint humming of jets indicates the uncloaking of the stealth jet of the Uncanny X-Men, the Blackbird! The mighty ship lurches into a hover, its cargo hold opening up...
...and a wheelchair rolling off of the ramp, the man inside of it spinning towards Nate Grey in a barely controled freefall, hurtling down faster, faster, faster, as if the man was attempting to /land/ on the X-Man!
"Hello, Nathan." There was something wrong about using 'Nate', but Professor X reasoned, calling someone "Mister Grey" after having hit them with your own wheelchair was just as tacky.
Rolling back, the Professor bows to tradition, exclaiming, "To me, my X-Men!" as he prepares for the difficult task of trying to aid Theresa while fending off Nate's inevitably massive psychic counter attack.
Wade's careful to let her breathe, but he's keeping her restrained... and he's got nothing out of the fuzzy bear, so he produces a green pair of frilly underthings.
"I've been in your underwear drawer, Terry! C'mon out and smack me around for that!" he barks, somewhat desperately...
That's when Cable recovers just enough to pull out the ace up his sleeve...
He fires a pulse along the X-Force psi-link, directly into Theresa's head while the rest of the X-Men and X-Force are monopolizing Grey, keeping his focus split...
Hoping to shatter that barrier the kid had pulled up.
The pulse hit, something Nate, Sonique, and likely Siryn all felt. Nate's presence, though, was too strong in her mind.
The barrier didn't just hold, the pulse was absorbed, amplified by Nate's power, then spit right back out along the psi-link. It was heading right for Domino, where there was still that little something waiting to make sure every psi-linked member of X-Force got some seriously nasty feedback.
However, while the barrier held, the pulse was far from ineffective. All that activity caused a massive ripple in Siryn's dream word. For a few moments, her perfect little reality was distorted around her, revealed for the illusion it was.
The dream was designed so that no one else could break in, but if the person inside ever wanted to, it was far too easy for them to break out...

"The running, the fighting; it'll all come to an end. We did enough of that on our homeworld." He gave her hand a squeeze.
"I've had a taste of a peaceful life with you. I want more."

He doesn't follow it up just yet.
"Looks like you can be taught."

"But you never learn."

His head is snug against hers, and his mouth right against her ear.
And he's singing.
Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand.

Also landing with a tremendous THOOOOM is the metal giant Colossus.
Darkly angered, he stalks toward Grey, prepared to back up Xavier.
