There is a place of rage well beyond words. Well beyond civilized thought, shock, or even anger as most would ever understand it. You can give into that fire, or you can channel and focus it into a weapon by itself ( Read more... )

There. Patriot. Leader of the so-called "Young Avengers."

He's a clever lad... used the chaos to sneak past everyone and into the complex.

Cap sees him and moves to follow. He'll catch up before he can set anyone free.

Thor grimly steps into the gap, his massive frame covering Cap's route entirely, a familiar red, white and blue shield in his grasp.

"Captain, methinks I hath something that belongs to thee."

Cap pauses. The fact that the man blocking his way is one of the most powerful of his opponents does not enter into the equation. Nor does the fact that, with what he is about to do, he's about to make Thor that much more powerful.

"And I you." He pulls Mjolnir from his belt, where he's left it hanging, and holds it out for his friend.

Thor takes the hammer, holding it to his side, refusing to move from his spot. "My thanks, noble Captain. I regret it hast come to this."

Cap moves through the installation quickly. The prison is built in a similar style to the Vault, with more dangerous prisoners kept underground, where it is more difficult to break out.

This young man "Patriot" is fast, but he's not going to lose Captain America.

He descends into the Cube, chasing after this young hero dressed in the flag that Steve himself so cherishes. He's surprised at the lack of support he's found so far... there have been no SHIELD agents yet. Are they outside, helping with the fight? Or was the power loss more dangerous than he first expected?

He puts those thoughts out of his mind as he finally comes around a corner to find Patriot standing by a door, unsure if he should enter or keep running.

That's when Captain America approaches him from behind to place a very firm hand on his shoulder.

"That's far enough, son."

"No." He replies sharply. "It isn't." He twists out of the grip and turns to face the man. "And I don't have time to fight you. Just come with me."

"This has gone far enough." His eyes narrow. "I've heard you're being mind-controlled. I don't know I buy that." He crosses his arms. "I'll give you one chance to explain yourself. If you can't... you surrender, and we stop all this senseless battle."

Quietly, a SHIELD sniper, finally alerted to Patriot's location, moves into position, takes aim... and fires.

After having her way with the power generator, Sooraya took off running. The control room lackeys had stayed put and she'd been able

The chaos of torture and pain had now been replaced with the chaos of battle, and now that she'd done her job, she let her get out instinct take over. She would help any of her friends she ran into, but...

I need to get out.

She ran around a corner and saw someone, and immediately transformed, hovering above the person on a pillar of sand. If they were hostile... well...

Sooraya would decide their fate soon enough.

The young man in the Captain America garb looks up.

"Are you with Helion?" Because he was hearing footsteps before all that, so maybe this dust cloud has an owner around the corner."

Sooraya's eyes go wide.

"What... what have you done to him?" Her voice is shrill; she doesn't know what's going on, who this person is, and why he seems to know everything. "Where is he?"

A tired smile spread across Victor's face, "Dust, I figured the disruption was you. This is Patriot, he's a friend." He said to the dust cloud as they came around the corner and came into full view.

"Hellion is outside fighting with SHIELD and those who still agree with the bill to distract them so we can get out." His body all of a sudden goes ridgid as he winces a little from the pain.

"Have you seen where they are keeping the others?" He asked, hoping she has. "We need to find Cessily still, there's also a guy with white hair and green eyes and a girl that looks like a rainbow." There's probably more, but those were the only one's he knew. "Also we need to know where Northstar and Wolverine are."

He's lost an arm and a leg and he's still all business.

Its hard to say how much the Thunder God hears or doesn't hear from outside. His resolve remains firm, standing the gap, and ensuring that neither assassins, nor heroes opposed to the children, save Cap, get by for the moment ( ... )

The coms are so jammed, he resorts to the old "head out the door," communication method, despite the bullets.

"Yo, Thor! Heard anything?"

A single nod. "Any, methinks Captain America and thy friends hath found something of import. Methinks thou shouldst stand ready to transport the injured. There ist likely to be many."

Cap remains staring at the Skull.

"You did all of this. You've killed and tortured these people... just to get to me?"

"Me? No, Captain, not me," Red Skull said, savoring this, scrutinizing and very nearly devouring the horror in his enemy's expression with his eyes. "I will admit that yes, it was I that put some well-placed money in the pockets of several politicians to secure my interests, but it is not as if that doesn't happen all the time. And yes, it was I who directed Carnage after his escape--but I was fortuitous to not need to offer him a thing to do my bidding--he had already intended on coming into New York City to cause mayhem on his own. I merely sent him along towards the protest to garner public opinion for the Act ( ... )

Captain America merely stands, silently, staring at the screen.

Then his fist flashes out, smashing the screen with his fist.

The glass cuts his hand, and blood runs from his red gloves, but he doesn't seem to notice.

He turns to Patriot, his eyes haunted.

Patriot has other ideas, and his looking to the monitors instead.

"I still don't see them divided and fighting right now. I'm seen just another failure!" He looks to the others. "We don't have time for a Ratzi yanking our chain! Move out!"
